.TH TELNET 1 .SH NAME telnet \- make a remote telnet connection .SH SYNOPSIS .B telnet .I machine .SH DESCRIPTION .B Telnet uses the Telnet protocol to talk to a remote .IR machine , addressed using any form acceptable to .IR dial (2): .IB net ! host ! port in general. The default .I net is .BR tcp , and the default .I port is 23, the standard Telnet login port. .PP .I Telnet connects to the given .I machine and interprets the Telnet protocol.
